Energy consumption in Ukraine in February 2020

In February, according to the State Statistics Service, liquefied gas took the first place in terms of growth in consumption (14.8%) – 13 thousand tons in 2020 against 11.3 thousand tons in 2019.

Another type of motor fuel, the demand for which has also been actively increasing, is diesel fuel. In 2020, consumers purchased almost 265 thousand tons, which is 10.1% more than in the comparable period of 2019 (240.6 thousand tons).

In February, fuel oil retained its position at the level of 2019 – consumption increased by only 1.8%, from 10.8 to 11 thousand tons.

At the same time, the volume of bulk purchases of gasoline decreased by 2%, from 35.4 thousand tons to 34.7 thousand tons.

Gas consumption also decreased slightly – by 2.8%, from 4013.4 thousand tons to 3896.4 thousand tons.

The decline in coal consumption continued. In February, it was not as fast as in January (24.2%) – only 4.7%, but the process continues.
