54 foreign companies store gas in Ukrainian underground storage facilities

Ukrtransgaz reports that foreign companies store 2.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas in Ukrainian underground gas storages (UGS).

It is noted that the volume of gas tripled in June compared to last year.

“At the same time, as of June 17, European sites were 77% full compared to the average figure of 52% in this period of the year,” the report said.

Last year, only 7 foreign companies stored gas in the underground gas storage facilities of Ukraine, today this figure is at least 54 companies.

“We have the lowest prices for gas storage in Europe and very attractive tariffs for the transportation of fuel,” said Serhii Oleksienko, General Director of Ukrtransgaz.

Recall, Ukrtransgaz reported that in May the demand for services of Ukrainian UGS facilities from European gas market participants increased significantly. In particular, as of June 1, 2020, non-residents kept 2.0 billion cubic meters of gas in the Customs warehouse mode, this is four times higher than the same period last year.
