Britain urges Europeans to unite against Nord Stream 2

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss called on European countries to unite against the launch of Nord Stream 2 in the Baltic Sea. She wrote this in a guest article for the Sunday Telegraph newspaper, Evropeyska Pravda reports.

“I want our friends all over Europe to join us. This means that we stand together and, for example, protect ourselves from the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline,” the minister said.

She believes the pipeline could undermine European security by allowing Russia to increase its influence over countries that depend on its gas.

According to her, the pandemic should remind of the importance of different supply chains to avoid strategic dependence on unreliable partners.

To recap, Gazprom's underground storage facilities in Europe start to empty up.

Earlier, Gazprom announced it would overfulfill the transit plan through Ukraine.
