The press service of Naftogaz clarified that it is about an alternative route for the gas pipeline.
"The National Energy Agency has refused to agree on an alternative route for the North Stream 2", NJSC said.
In turn, the project company Nord Stream 2 AG reported that the Danish Energy Agency had requested the operator of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project an additional environmental assessment of the main pipeline route to the south of the island of Bornholm.
"They (the Danish Energy Agency – ed.) asked us to carry out an additional environmental assessment", said the company's representative.
At the same time, the company assures that both applications for the passage of the gas pipeline – both from the north and from the south of the island – are still under consideration by the authorities of Denmark.
It was reported earlier that the Chairman of the Board of the Austrian company OMV Rainer Seele stated that Denmark could approve the permit for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline by mid-2019.
