The debt of regional gas companies to the GTS Operator exceeded UAH 1 billion
For the period January-April 2020, participants in the natural gas market in Ukraine accumulated UAH 1 billion 336 million for negative imbalances to the Ukrainian GTS Operator, of which regional gas companies owed 85%, or UAH 1 billion 131 million. This was reported by the press service.
Today, the level of payments for negative imbalances is 24% since the beginning of the year. In turn, the GTS Operator fully paid for the positive imbalances for the period of January-March 2020.
In total, 596 million cubic meters of negative imbalances and 710 million cubic meters of positive imbalances have been recorded since the beginning of the year totaling UAH 2.9 billion and UAH 3.6 billion, respectively.
“It is important to note that in April the regional gas companies of the RGC group reduced the growth rate of debt for negative imbalances, and the leaders among the debtors are Luhanskgaz (UAH 286.4 million), Ternopilhorgaz (UAH 164.8 million), Kyivoblgaz (UAH 98.4 million) , Kirovohradgaz (UAH 83.8 million) and Donetskoblgaz (UAH 55.9 million), ”the statement said.
It is noted that the presence of such a significant debt threatens the start of a new heating season in the fall of 2020.
Ukrainian GTS Operator applied to the court, the relevant lawsuits were filed against Donetskoblgaz, Luhanskgaz, Kirovohradgaz, Ternopilhorgaz, Melitopolgaz, Umangaz and Khersongaz.
