EIB approves energy efficiency loan for Ukraine

The European Investment Bank to provide a €300 million loan for an energy efficiency project including the energy modernization of administrative buildings, schools, kindergartens, cultural institutions, and hospitals, Business Censor reports.

The estimated total cost of the project is €407 million, while Ukraine's investment need is estimated at €2 billion.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Regional Development, thermal modernization will be carried out by installing modern energy efficiency equipment, meters, and control systems, modernizing heating, ventilation, lighting systems, etc.

To recap, at a meeting on September 23, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved 2 draft regulations allowing attracting loans from the European Investment Bank to implement the energy efficiency of public buildings in Ukraine project.
