Gas sales companies owe Naftogaz UAH1 billion

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine reported about the deterioration in the payment discipline of five gas sales enterprises in the Poltava and Cherkasy regions, they did not pay for the supplied natural gas in January 2021.

“Naftogaz took an active part in the preparation of the government's anti-crisis measures in the gas sector. In fact, we are lending to the gas retail business in 14 regions of the country for a period of up to 55 days. Unfortunately, not all of our clients demonstrate the same partnership: five out of 33 sales-counterparties have simply stopped paying for gas supplies since January and formed a debt of about UAH 1 billion. Such actions undermine confidence in the Ukrainian gas market. This problem requires comprehensive attention of the state, taking into account the government's initiative to work with gas sales under annual contracts,” said Willem Coppuls, General Director of Naftogaz Trading LLC.

Naftogaz meets the enterprises as much as possible: during the pandemic, the Group offered gas suppliers to the population economically profitable - both in price and in terms of payment – terms of contracts.

At the moment, Naftogaz is in intensive negotiations with troubled companies to resolve all financial issues.

In case of emergency, Naftogaz will be forced to go to court to collect the debt.

As a reminder, NEURC fined 7 gas suppliers for violation of the law.

Earlier it was reported that Poltavagaz sbut LLC had stopped supplying gas to the population.
