Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at a government meeting that the readiness of the entire infrastructure of Ukraine for the heating season was 99%. He added that what it involves is both the repair of heating networks and boiler houses, as well as the preparation of schools, hospitals, kindergartens and the direct preparation of residential buildings, the press service reported.
He also noted that Ukraine had to increase its gas production.
“The storage facilities have accumulated nearly 19 billion cubic meters of gas, and this will be enough to pass the winter. The Government sets a clear task for the management of Naftogaz and Ukrgazvydobuvannya - to increase the production of its gas. All the tools for this were provided: areas for production were transferred, licenses were granted, production sharing agreements were concluded. Increasing such production is a matter of national security,” the Prime Minister stressed.
To recap, Naftogaz called on the heating companies to agree on the repayment of debts for gas.
As reported, Ukraine increased gas imports from Europe.
