The Verkhovna Rada approved tariffs moratorium

The Verkhovna Rada approved bill No.7427 on a moratorium on raising tariffs for gas, heat and hot water during the war. MP Yaroslav Zheliezniak wrote about this in Telegram.

The document suggests the following changes:

natural gas distribution tariffs are not subject to an increase;

thermal energy tariffs, supply of thermal energy and supply of hot water tariffs for all categories of consumers are not subject to an increase;

the price of natural gas for residential consumers is not subject to an increase, depending on the price that was applied as of February 24, 2022.

The bill suggests establishing a ban on natural gas suppliers carrying out any actions to force a household consumer to pay debts.

I’d like to help Kosatka.Media. How can I help?

According to the document, the moratorium on tariff increases in 2022 will cost UAH 264 billion. These funds will be used to compensate NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, which is obliged to sell gas at preferential prices. The sources of funds for the special fund of the state budget are dividends from state-owned companies and receipts from the assistance programs of the European Union, governments of foreign states, international organizations, donor agencies.
