Companies will pay tax for “dormant licenses” – Opimakh

Head of the State Geological Service, Roman Opimakh, said that mining companies would pay monthly rents. This is reported by Economic Truth.

The State Service of Geology and Subsoil will work with “dormant licenses” on a “use or drop” basis.

“We have a problem of “dormant licenses”. We propose to adopt the rule: if you haven’t started production for the fourth year from the date of obtaining the license, you begin to pay a progressive tax for the maintenance of oil and gas sites”, said Opimakh.

He also said that subsidiaries would assume the obligations under the license in case of its transfer from the parent company.

“If the work program is not implemented, then this is the responsibility of the company for which the license is issued.  So, there is no difference”.

As reported earlier, the State Service of Geology and Subsoil had submitted an investment atlas of the subsoil user.
