Gazprom's spokesman Serhii Kupriyanov said that the company had not yet received the current payment for gas from Moldova, Point reports.
“The current payment for gas from Moldova has not been received. The 48 hours period after the notification was made about the termination of supplies due to non-payment expires today,” he said.
On November 22, the Russian company Gazprom notified Moldova of the possible termination of gas supplies in 48 hours due to the lack of payment under the current contract.
Moldovagaz confirmed the receipt of a notification from Gazprom about the need to pay for current gas supplies for October and November 2021.
On November 1, 2021, Gazprom began delivering natural gas to Moldova under a new contract.
