The Supervisory Board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” decided to extend the contract with the company's Board Chairman, Andriy Kobolev, and established his monthly salary in the amount of 2.08 million UAH. It was said by interlocutor for EP.
“The new legislation gives the Supervisory Board of the state-owned company the authority to take decisions on contracts with management”, interlocutor said.
In a letter of Claire Spottiswoode, the Head of the Supervisory Board of “Naftogaz” addressed to the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman it is noted that the term of office of Kobolov was extended for three years, starting from January 1, 2019.
In the letter, Claire Spottyswoode noted that Groysman publicly noted his expectations regarding the revision of the amount of Kobolev's salary and that it should be a market one.
“The Appointments and Remuneration Committee, with the involvement of an external consultant, conducted a review of market remuneration levels, and we received assurances that the proposed salary level corresponds to the market”, the letter says.
The salary of Andriy Kobolev will correspond to the level that was in the previous contract.
It was reported earlier that the head of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Andriy Kobolev said that he would give his salary from the beginning of February until the end of 2019 to charity. Kobolev made this decision after the topic of his salary became “political”.
