NJSC Naftogaz will use €120 million of loan funds from the EBRD to purchase gas in the fourth quarter of 2019.
This is stated in the procurement announcement published on September 6.
Naftogaz says that the purpose of gas purchase is “closing the gap between the purchase and sale of natural gas”.
Gas will be supplied via interconnectors from the EU.
“The beginning of procurement procedures for contracts is expected in the 4th quarter of 2019. The beginning of preliminary selection for contracts is expected at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2019”, the statement said.
As reported, at the beginning of September 2019, gas reserves in underground storage facilities amounted to 18.3 billion cubic meters. This is 3.6 billion cubic meters more than at the beginning of September 2018.
