Naftogaz announces EBRD-funded gas purchase from the EU

In order to do this, Naftogaz will use EUR 80.4 million received from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) via the placement of the Company’s Eurobonds in 2019, the press service reports.

Naftogaz is publishing an Invitation for Prequalification of gas suppliers after the General Procurement Notice was posted on the EBRD website in the Procurement Notices section on 28 January 2021.

Contracts financed with funds borrowed from the EBRD are governed by the Bank’s procurement policy and procedures; are based on EU standard rules and procedures for gas procurement; and will be open to companies from any country.

EBRD funds shall not be used to pay individuals or legal entities for imports if such payments or imports are prohibited by the UN Security Council's decision approved under Section VII of the UN Charter or by the law or relevant official regulation of the Buyer’s country.
