The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko announced the beginning of a heating season in Kyiv on October 25, Ukrainian Truth reports.
“Next week is goingto be cold. And the day after tomorrow we are launching the heating system. I would like to warn that our heating system is the biggest in the Europe and to work at full capacity we need about 10 days. But the day after tomorrow, on October 25, we are already starting the heating season”, he said.
Naftogaz reacted to such a statement, they believe that it is too early to start the heating season in Kyiv, because now the weather is warm in the capital.
“We don’t want to spoil the mood of Mr. Klitschko, but according to the weather forecast, another week will be warm weather... In addition, school holidays begin with the following weeks and empty classes drop off without meaning”, the company said.
As of October 15, 21 billion cubic meters of gas are stored in the underground gas storages. This is the largest figure in 10 years.
