Naftogaz Trading sold 3.6 bcm of gas in January-May 2021

Naftogaz Trading Gas Supply Company LLC sold 3.6 bcm of gas in January-May 2021, which is significantly higher compared to the total of 125 mcm for the same period last year, the press service reports.

This growth was due to the company’s strategy of developing sales on a competitive basis and increasing the customer base, as well as to higher demand for energy during the heating season.

Naftogaz Trading supplied to nearly 100 companies as of the end of 2019, and this number doubled within a year.  As of 3 May 2021, the company had more than 360 corporate customers representing various sectors of the economy including the chemical, metal, processing, and energy industries.

Since the expiration of the PSO regime on 20 May 2021, Naftogaz Trading began supplying gas to heat and energy producers. As of 8 June 2021, 149 heat and energy producers including associations of apartment block co-owners, applied to the company for the conclusion of gas supply contracts. 102 of these have been entered into the register of Naftogaz Trading customers on the GTSOU data platform.

The company is a major player on the gas exchange market. In January-May, Naftogaz Trading sold about 1.5 bcm of gas on the exchange.

Naftogaz Trading offers 11 products, including sales in the current month and one month ahead, on the current day and one day ahead, and two months in advance. Customers can choose their preferred payment option: advance payment, payment on delivery, or payment under escrow agreement. Delivery terms have been developed based on market player preferences.

As reported earlier, since the beginning of exchange operations in July 2019 and until 31 May 2021, the company concluded almost 1.4 thousand gas supply contracts, including more than 400 contracts since the beginning of the current year.
