GTS Operator of Ukraine LLC received a positive preliminary decision by the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission on certification of the Company as a GTS operator. This was reported by the press service.
“A copy of such a decision will be sent along with other information upon request for certification from the Energy Community Secretariat”, the statement said.
The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission will be able to make a final decision, which will allow GTS Operator of Ukraine LLC to start working as a legally separate GTS operator from 01.01.2020, after receiving a positive opinion from the Energy Community Secretariat.
The company expects to receive certification as an operator of the gas transmission system by the end of this year, since from January 1, the GTS operator will be separated from the Naftogaz group (unbundling) and transferred to the management of the state-owned company Main Gas Pipelines of Ukraine (MGU).
The branch of the GTS operator is one of the key factors in the process of trilateral negotiations on the continuation of the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to Europe.
Earlier it was reported that the GTS Operator of Ukraine submitted a package of documents to the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission for a license to carry out economic activities for the transmission of natural gas.
