The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission set a ceiling tariff for gas distribution at UAH 1.79 per cubic meter, writes Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his Telegram channel.
“The regulator supported the general decision worked out by the Government, People's Deputies and the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada. Thus, the maximum reduction in the distribution tariff will be up to 30%,” he wrote.
Shmyhal also emphasised that establishing the maximum tariff at UAH 1.79 did not mean that it would be the same for everyone. NEURC has set the highest tariff limit, but this amount will be lower for dozens of companies.
According to him, an initiative will also be presented to the Parliament soon, which "should reduce the gap in tariffs between different gas distribution companies and establish a fair tariff for gas distribution for all people.”
The Cabinet of Ministers has published a decree on limiting gas prices for the population.
