The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, at its meeting on Wednesday, April 7, adopted a Resolution approving the annual gas price for household consumers, Kosatka.Media reports.
The annual product for gas is intended to reduce the impact of price fluctuations on residential consumers. It should be offered by all gas suppliers to residential consumers. The price will be valid from May 1, 2021, to April 30, 2022.
Each client will be automatically transferred to a fixed annual gas price, but the consumer will be able to refuse such a price and pay monthly at market prices.
"All companies supplying natural gas to household consumers, or those intending to supply gas to household consumers, will be required to inform all household consumers by April 25 of this year information on prices that will be in effect during this period," the Regulator announced.
The Commission also noted that during this period the supplier can change the price for consumers, but only downward.
Suppliers can also offer consumers other priced products (monthly, quarterly, and others).
Also, a member of NEURC Oksana Kryvenko emphasized that this decision does not interfere with changing the gas supplier to another, the consumer will be able to change the annual product to any other that will be offered by the supplier.
As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine published Resolution No.25 of January 18, 2021, which provides for the introduction of a maximum gas price for the population at UAH 6.99 per cubic meter from February 1 to March 31, 2021.
Earlier, the head of Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolyev announced the price of gas in April for the company's clients.
