The head of Ukraine’s GTS Operator Serhii Makohon told that OGTSU, Naftogaz, together with the Slovak GTS operator Eustream, have created a joint product for Western traders that will allow them to store gas in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.
“Short-haul from the Ukrainian GTS Operator + “customs warehouse” from Naftogaz of Ukraine – Naftogaz + a new product from Eustream creates an economically attractive opportunity for European traders to store gas in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities” he said.
Now, when buying capacities in Slovakia for gas transmission to Ukraine, for seasonal storage of gas and its subsequent export, traders can get a discount on such capacities in Slovakia up to 40%.
The gas injection season is just beginning, so this year Western traders will be able to use this product, and Ukraine will receive additional income from the use of its powerful infrastructure of gas transmission systems and underground storage facilities.
