NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine warns residents of Dnipro, Dnipro, Piatykhatky, Sofiyivka, Lykhivka and Saksahan villages, which are supplied with heat by public utilities DniproTeploenergo: SE Sofiyivkateeploenergo, SE Skhidteploenergo and SE Pivdenteplomerezha, about a possible disruption of the start of the heating season due to inaction of local authorities. This was reported by the press service.
“These enterprises turned to Naftogaz to conclude natural gas supply agreements. The enterprises use boiler houses that were previously operated by other business entities that have accumulated substantial debt to Naftogaz for previously consumed gas”, the statement said.
According to the requirements of Article 22 of the Law of Ukraine “On Heat Supply”, these enterprises had to transfer the debts of their predecessors to conclude contracts. However, heat producers categorically refuse to comply with legal requirements.
The company calls on local authorities of Dnipropetrovsk region to monitor compliance with legislation by utilities and, if necessary, provide them with the necessary financial assistance to start the heating season on time.
It was previously reported, that Naftogaz has stated about full readiness of Ukraine for the heating season.
