Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at a briefing that the heating season in Kyiv would begin on October 16, Ukrinform reports.
"From October 16, Kyiv starts the heating season. We will begin supplying heat to the system tomorrow. I have already signed the corresponding order. The city made this decision, taking into account the average daily temperature. According to forecasters, next week there will be a cold snap, at night the temperature will drop to 3 -5 degrees Celsius, "Klitschko said.
He noted that the city needs about a week to fully launch the centralized heating system - 27 thousand kilometers long in almost 12 thousand houses. According to him, the connection of hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and other institutions of the social sphere is carried out on separate requests from their leaders.
He also stressed that the housing and communal inspection specially created in the city would control the stable and reliable heat supply.
Previously acting Minister of Energy Olha Buslavets reported that Ukraine is entirely ready for the heating season.
