The chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Andriy Kobolyev, said that a criminal case had been opened against the management of Naftogaz, Hromadske Radio reports.
“The case concerns the activities of the company's management. But it is difficult to investigate the activities of management without the name of Kobolyev. It is built on accusations of high treason. When it's open, I don't know. I received the papers on this matter today,” Kobolyev said.
According to him, the company perceives this as "a very insistent invitation to a public discussion."
“We are ready to accept this invitation. We have nothing to hide. We are absolutely open on state audit on debt reserve and on all other issues,” he assures.
The head of the company says that he lost track of the number of criminal cases against Naftogaz.
“I personally stopped counting after I was personally fined UAH 8 billion in 2018. Such a fine for me, as an individual, was issued by the State Customs. Then we were able to prove in the courts that there were no grounds for punishment and that this fine was incorrect.”
To recap, in March 2020, the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz extended the contract with Andriy Kobolyev for 4 years.
