Restructuring of debts of district heating companies will begin after their analysis by a special commission

At a meeting on September 1, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a regulation on territorial commissions that will analyze and verify the volume of debts of enterprises on the gas market - they reach UAH 100 billion, Ekonomichna Pravda reports.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law proposing a mechanism for restructuring debts arising on the accounts of district heating companies, gas sales and regional gas companies.

This will help to pay off the debt that arose due to the difference in tariffs for heat and hot water, Shmyhal notes.

The Prime Minister noted that the restructuring of debts will allow the local authorities to balance the issue of tariffs for heat and hot water in their communities.

The law proposes, in particular, to allow enterprises to restructure the debt for the distribution and transportation of gas with the subsequent write-off of the accrued interest.

Also, in September the second bill containing changes to the state budget should be registered. In particular, the amounts checked by the state that are subject to compensation, and the sources of repayment are determined under the control of the Ministry of Finance.

As reported, Naftogaz is concerned about the low activity of heat producers to conclude agreements for the purchase of gas.
