Gas stocks in Ukrainian underground storage facilities have decreased by 19% since the beginning of the heating season

From October 19, 2020, to January 10, 2021, Ukraine reduced the reserves of natural gas in underground storage facilities (UGS) by 18.9% (by 5.38 billion cubic meters) to 23.062 billion cubic meters, according to the operational data of JSC Ukrtransgaz, Business Censor reports.

On January 10, withdrawal from UGS facilities amounted to 69.4 million cubic meters with "zero" imports (excluding possible backhaul) and internal production of 54.4 million cubic meters.

According to the 's calculationsInterfax-Ukraine agency's calculations, the current volume of reserves exceeds the figure for the same date in 2015-2020 by 1.3-2.2 times (by 4.9-12.4 billion cubic meters).

During the last heating season, which lasted from November 1, 2019, to March 26, 2020, gas reserves in the country's UGS facilities decreased by 6 billion cubic meters (from 21.784 billion cubic meters to 15.784 billion cubic meters).

Let us remind you that gas prices in Europe rose to $284 per thousand cubic meters.

Earlier, it was reported that Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal presented two approaches to reduce gas price for the population.
