The US Senate supported the draft law, which approved the US defense budget for 2020 (NDAA). They also introduce mandatory sanctions against companies and individuals who lay pipes or help in the construction of the Nord Stream 2. This was announced by head of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolyev on Facebook.
86 senators voted for the draft law, 8 voted against. US President Donald Trump is due to sign it next week.
After that, the companies involved in the construction of the gas pipeline will have to complete the work in the near future or will be under US sanctions.
Recall, last week, the US Congress supported this draft law.
