“Nord Stream” supplied a record volume of gas

In 2018, Nord Stream AG supplied 58.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas to consumers in Europe via the Nord Stream gas pipeline. This is the highest rate of gas pipeline loading since the beginning of its operation.

Such data are contained in a press release from Nord Stream AG, the operator of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

In 2017, 51 billion cubic meters of gas were pumped through the pipeline, which means an increase in pumping by 15.3%. The capacity of the pipeline is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

From the commencement of operation of the first pipeline’s line in November 2011 and the second line in October 2012 until the end of 2018, Nord Stream AG transported 264.1 billion cubic meters of gas.

The pipeline system with a length of 1224 km, consists of two lines, runs along the bottom of the Baltic Sea from Vyborg (RF) to Lubmin, near Greifswald (Germany).
