Shmyhal instructed to check the validity of gas prices
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal instructed Acting Energy Minister Yurii Vitrenko, together with the Antimonopoly Committee, to check the validity of gas prices, the press service reports.
“It is necessary to audit the formation of tariffs and consider the possibility of reducing those components of the tariff that are unfair and unjustified from the point of view of the market. This also applies to the issue of gas transmission tariffs and gas coefficients. You have all the levers to resolve this issue,” he said.
According to him, currently, NJSC Naftogaz offers almost the cheapest gas prices for household consumers among the gas suppliers.
Besides, Shmyhal instructed the Ministry of Energy to submit the updated fuel and energy balance of Ukraine to the Government and the NSDC for consideration by January 25, 2021.
“The renewal of the balance should show all Ukrainians that the government understands the problems of the industry and is looking for a compromise between the social component and the interests of business,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
Recall that one of the people's deputies demands Shmygal to dismiss the Head of Naftogaz.
Earlier it was reported that starting from January 1, Naftogaz of Ukraine would suspend the annual tariff plan.
