Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on the air of the Freedom of Speech on ICTV told how the gas price for the population would be formed after the expiration of the fixed annual offer.
The Head of government said that for the period from May 1, 2022, to April 30, 2023, the price would be formed based on the price of gas in the world market and the volume of its production.
“The current gas price is an annual market product, fixed for a year. Of course, for the next year period it will be revised by NJSC Naftogaz and will be formed depending on the dynamics of the gas price on the world market and how much gas there will be in Ukraine, how we will increase our production, and we are working on it,” the PM said.
The PM believes that the country has enough coal and gas for the heating season. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers has no plans to introduce restrictions on electricity consumption.
In December, the management of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine announced that it would not be able to keep the current tariff for district heating companies and the population at the level of UAH 7.96 per cubic meter for a long time, which differs from the market by seven times.
