The construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2020. It is stated in the report of the project operator, the company Nord Stream 2 AG, published by the Energy Agency of Denmark.
The company filed an application for laying the pipeline along the third route south of the Danish island of Bornholm to the Danish authorities on April 15.
On June 19, public hearings on the third route of the gas pipeline will take place in Denmark.
“Permits were issued in Sweden, Germany, Finland and Russia. Construction preparatory work on land and at sea was begun in 2018 in all four of the aforementioned countries, and the laying of the pipeline is currently continuing in German, Swedish and Finnish waters. It is planned that the pipeline system will be completed and ready for gas transmission during the second half of 2020”, says the attached report.
At first it was planned to build two gas lines by the end of 2019. In January, the Head of Gazprom, Olexiy Miller, stated that work was being carried out on schedule and more than 20% of the gas pipeline had already been built.
