Turkey wants to increase the purchase of natural gas from Azerbaijan

Turkey intends to increase the purchase of natural gas from Azerbaijan, Angi reports.

“Our cooperation with Azerbaijan will be strengthened in all directions. Azerbaijan came out on top in gas supplies. We will increase the volume of gas purchased there,” said Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the republic.

In May Azerbaijan accounted for 33% of gas supplies to Turkey, Qatar – 19.5%. Russia's share in the Turkish gas market in May decreased to 12.74% against 17.86% in April.

Earlier it was reported that Turkey had significantly reduced the share of Russian gas imports.
