The Dolphin hydrocarbon field on the Black Sea shelf can be divided into several lots for the PSA tender, Energoreforma reports.
“We hope to divide it into three or four lots. This is a great investment project. We will ask the President and the Prime Minister to help us, and will attract investors”, said Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Oleksiy Orzhel at a meeting of the relevant parliamentary committee.
The ministry negotiated with Socar and other companies to increase the number of participants in the competition.
On April 12, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers announced a tender for the development of hydrocarbons at the Dolphin field under the terms of the PSA.
Four companies have submitted applications to participate in the state tender for the development of oil and gas on the Dolphin field: Caspian Drilling International Ltd., Frontera, Trident Black Sea and Ukrnaftobourinnya. Trident Black Sea won the tender.
Later, former Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that the competition for gas production at the Dolphin field on the Black Sea shelf did not live up to expectations regarding the arrival of powerful world-class players on the Ukrainian market.
In October, the Cabinet of Ministers published a decision to cancel the tender for the Dolphin field.
