UEEX launches day-ahead natural gas trading

Trading on the day-ahead market takes place on the UEEX trading platform by trading short-term standardized products on the UEEX. All participants who have been accredited to participate in the UEEX short-term natural gas market can participate in the day-ahead market trading sessions, the press service reports.

The trading and clearing session schedule is the same for all short-term products on the UEEX. These are 4 trading sessions during the day: from 10:00-13:00, 15:00-17:30, 19:30-22:30, 0:00-5:30. The schedule and terms are HERE.

"The launch of Day-ahead trading complements the range of UEEX exchange instruments in the natural gas market. Using this tool, market participants can also plan the sale of the resource in the short-term market, improving the participants' portfolio's liquidity. We listen to market participants and provide quality support at all stages of the trading process. The introduction of new products at the UEEX contributes to the active development of the gas market of Ukraine,” says Inna Shcherbyna, Deputy Chairman of the Exchange Committee

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a draft law as a basis, introducing amendments to the law on public procurement, allowing GTSOU to purchase natural gas on the exchange.

Earlier, on October 5, an auction to sell renewable electricity was held at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange for the first time.
