Ukrtatnafta continues to buy marine LHG batches

In mid-June, the company will receive a second sea batch of liquefied hydrocarbon gas (LHG).

“The terms of the deal are almost agreed. The tanker will arrive in Odesa closer to the middle of the month”, a source at the market said.

Ukrtatnafta will acquire 3.8 thousand tons of liquefied hydrocarbon gas. The name of the company-seller is not disclosed. The price of the product, according to market participants, will be about $480-500 per ton (cif Odesa). Gas will be reloaded at the terminal of Ukrloudsystem, which is included in the Privat group.

Ukrtatnafta received the first tanker with 4 thousand tons of product on 26 May. The seller was Vitol trading company, according to customs statistics.

A part of this batch of gas has already been sold at the domestic market at 22.400–22.600 UAH/ton, or $826.59–833.94 per ton (fca Odesa), traders said.

Ukrtatnafta imported a sea batch of gas for the first time in July last year, delivering 2.15 thousand tons of gas produced by Hellenic Petroleum from the Greek port of Aspropyrgos.

According to traders, at least three companies are still considering the possibility of importing sea batches of gas through the ports of Ukraine, as a shortage of the product is expected.
