Ukrtransgaz asks district heating companies to restructure billions in debts

JSC Ukrtransgaz called on district heating companies to restructure the debt for consumed natural gas in 2015–2019.

During the specified period, district heating companies withdrew 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas from the gas transmission system worth more than UAH 10 billion at PSO prices, the press service reports.

Part of the companies has already signed the relevant agreements with Ukrtransgaz. Now they can restructure the debt with the subsequent write-off of the penalties and interests charged, as well as avoid potential litigation.

As reported, the Ministry of Regional Development began the process of restructuring district heating companies’ debts. The ministry will allocate UAH 26.9 billion to local budgets to pay off the debt.
