Ukrtransgaz completed work at Komarno compressor station to increase the reverse from Poland

Ukrtransgaz has successfully completed construction and installation work at Komarno compressor station to connect a new technological section of the crossover pipe.  This was reported by the press service.

By the end of October, it is planned to conduct a test launch in reverse mode, which will be the final stage of completion of work at the facility.

“The updated configuration of the linear part of the gas pipeline will allow transporting fuel both in obverse and reverse modes between Ukraine and Poland.  The reconstruction will increase the capacity and maneuverability of transmission and help ensure reliable and uninterrupted passage of the heating season 2019/2020”, the message says.

Komarno compressor station is involved in the transmission of gas across the border of Ukraine – Poland.  The modernization of the technological piping of the compressor station will significantly increase the maneuverability and reliability of the operation of gas transmission systems in the case of the termination of transit of Russian gas from January 1, 2020.  The design capacity of the modernized section will be 15 million cubic meters per day in obverse mode and 18 million cubic meters per day in reverse mode from Poland.
