Denmark may license the construction of “Nord Stream 2” in 2019

The Chairman of the Management Board of Austrian OMV, Rainer Seele announced that “Nord Stream 2” company constructed about 600 km of “Nord Stream 2”. 600 million euros were allocated for the pipeline construction.

“The total cost of the project is 9.5 billion euros. Our share is 10%, we will finance it in this volume. By the end of 2018 we allocated 600 million euros, so we are close. Thus, we think that the rest of the sum will be allocated”, he said.

Rainer Seele also declared that the license to implement “Nord Stream 2” could be approved by the mid-2019.

OMV companies conduct exploration and oil production. The daily production of OMV is 317 000 barrels in oil equivalent. Gas pipelines with the lengths of 2000 km belong to OMV, the company sell about 40 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The company’s reserves are 1.21 billion barrels in oil equivalent.

It was reported earlier, that on January 21 in Brussels the tripartite negotiations were held: Ukraine – European Commission – the Russian Federation on the transit of gas through the territory of Ukraine. Current contract between NJSC “Naftogaz Ukrainy” and PJSC “Gazprom” expires in the end of 2019.
