EU-RF-Ukraine negotiations on gas supply were agreed on September 19 in Brussels, a source in the European Commission said.
“Yes, I confirm that the parties agreed to meet in Brussels on September 19”, Interfax-Ukraine agency’s interlocutor said.
Also, the fact that trilateral negotiations on gas supply between the EU, the Russian Federation and Ukraine will be held in Brussels on September 19 was confirmed by the Deputy Chairman of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic.
“I am pleased to announce that on September 19 I will accept the next round of trilateral gas negotiations”, he said.
“I am convinced that progress will serve as a strong positive signal for the market, as well as consumers in anticipation of the winter season”, Sefcovic said.
Earlier, the Russian and Ukrainian sides declared their readiness to choose a date for negotiations. Prior to this, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation had stated that they would be held in the second half of September.
