The Cabinet of Ministers changed its mind: Naftogaz will not sell gas for Luhansk TPP at a special preferential price

The Cabinet of Ministers initiates the adoption of a decision on providing generation entities of Luhansk region with energy resources without applying a regulated special price and accelerating the construction of alternative energy supply lines in the region. This was discussed during a special government meeting initiated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

“During the meeting, a decision was made to provide energy generation entities without applying a regulated special price. The corresponding decision will be made at the next meeting of the Government. At the same time, NPC Ukrenergo was instructed to accelerate the implementation of the project for the construction of a second energy supply line”, the statement said.

Recall that on August 14, the Cabinet of Ministers had decided to oblige NJSC Naftogaz to supply gas to Luhansk TPP, which is part of DTEK holding, at a price of 2895 thousand UAH per thousand cubic meters. This is almost 40% cheaper than the price of gas for the population now.
