Explosion on pipeline in Mexico

The Mexican Ministry of Public Security reported that an explosion occurred on the pipeline of the state oil and gas corporation Petroleos Mexicanos in Veracruz state, NefteRynok reports.

“An explosion has been reported on the Pemex pipeline in the Barita colony. According to preliminary information, five people were injured, they were taken to the regional hospital of Poza Rika,” the ministry said in a statement.

According to local media reports, the explosion occurred as a result of work and a gas leak at the distribution station – it reached a nearby residential building, where a fire was burning in the kitchen.

Brigades of oil workers, rescuers, police and ambulances are working at the scene. The population within a radius of 500 meters from the explosion site was evacuated.

Earlier it was reported that an explosion occurred in a petrochemical plant in Spain.
