Russia believes that the change of power in Germany will not prevent the launch of Nord Stream 2

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that despite the change of power in Germany, work on preparations for the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline continues, and everything goes on, as usual, Angi reports.

“The fact is that all departments, all bodies, including those departments that will certify this facility, continue to work in Germany,” Peskov said.

According to him, after the change of government in Germany, there are several scenarios for the launch dates: operational and less operational.

To recap, the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) managed to win the parliamentary elections in Germany. According to preliminary results of the Federal Election Commission, the SPD won 25.7% of the vote.

As a reminder, the Polish oil and gas company PGNiG will not have the right to veto the certification of Nord Stream 2.
