Preparations for the heating season are being completed in the capital – Klitschko

Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko said that the city is completing preparations for the heating season, Economichna Pravda reports.

“The utility company Kyivteploenergo is carrying out large-scale reconstruction of the upcoming sections of heating networks. This year we will generally replace more than 100 km of emergency pipes at the most problematic areas in all districts of the city. We also eliminated 6.5 thousand damages on heating systems and damages caused by hydraulic tests,” he said.

According to him, tests this year began almost a month later – in May, and not in April, as usual, due to quarantine.

Klitschko noted that Kyivteploenergo also prepared all the capital's heating stations and boiler houses for winter.

“All enterprises and services are preparing for winter, and we control the quality of work. The city has a housing and communal inspection, which will inspect the condition of houses and heat supply systems. And everyone will be responsible for proper preparation – from the head of the district to the head of the housing office,” he stressed.

To recap, Kyivteploenergo is completing a major overhaul of one of the most worn-out sections of heating networks in Obolon.
