Gas transit from Russia amounted to 45 bcm in 10 months – Makohon

The head of the GTS Operator of Ukraine, Serhii Makohon, wrote on his Facebook page that gas transit from Russia for 10 months of 2020 amounted to 45 billion m3.

According to him, the forecast for transit from Russia through the Ukrainian gas transmission system by the end of the year is 55-56 billion cubic meters.

As a reminder, at the end of December, Ukraine and Russia signed an agreement on Russian gas transit. Over the years, the minimum transit volumes were recorded in the following amounts: 2020 – 65 billion cubic meters, 2021 – 2024 – 40 billion cubic meters of gas annually.

Following the agreements' signing, Ukraine will receive a guaranteed income from transit for the next five years.

As reported, Ukraine would become the center for the integration of gas markets in Southeast Europe.
