Ukraine increased its gas reserves by 1.9 times in 4 months

From April 4 to August 10, 2019, Ukraine increased its natural gas reserves in underground storage facilities (UGSFs) by 1.9 times (by 7.874 billion cubic meters) up to 16.61 billion cubic meters, according to operational data of JSC Ukrtransgaz.  It is reported by Interfax.

According to the calculations of the Interfax agency, this volume exceeds the reserves figures on August 10, 2018 by 24.2%, on August 10, 2017 – by 21.3%.

From August 1 to 10, 768.29 million cubic meters were pumped into underground gas storage facilities, which is 76.8 million cubic meters of an average daily injection, while in July it amounted to 74.4 million cubic meters per day, in June – 71.9 million cubic meters per day, in May – 62.9 million cubic meters per day.

Underground gas storage facilities in Ukraine, in particular, on August 10 of this year were replenished by 77.48 million cubic meters with imports of 65.86 million cubic meters and domestic production of 54.39 million cubic meters.

About 20 billion cubic meters of gas must be pumped into the underground gas storage facilities of Ukraine before the start of the heating season.
