Kyiv residents' debt for gas distribution amounts to UAH 4.8 million – Kyivgaz

Household customers' debts of JSC Kyivgaz for gas distribution amount to UAH 4.8 million. Of these, 16.5% of consumers in 2021 never paid for the distribution of natural gas, the press service reports.

The residents of Dniprovskyi, Solomenskyi and Shevchenkovskyi districts of the capital owe the most.

Currently, the company does not apply penalties for late payment for gas distribution services. During the quarantine period, the government protected the population from the possible termination of the provision of utilities in case of non-payment of bills.

“736 thousand residents of Kyiv who use gas water heaters and stoves or exclusively stoves, payment for distribution services per year does not exceed UAH 25. The monthly payment for this category of consumers is on average UAH 2. Despite this, some consumers do not pay for the services received,” says Vitalii Zamaraev, Director of the Gas Distribution and Balancing Department at JSC Kyivgaz.

JSC Kyivgaz urges consumers to pay for the gas distribution service promptly and prevent the accumulation of debts because uninterrupted and trouble-free gas supply depends on it.

The main area of activity of JSC Kyivgaz is the distribution of natural gas. The company's clients are more than 778 thousand households in the capital, as well as more than 1.5 thousand enterprises, institutions and organizations. The enterprise serves 4.9 thousand km of gas pipelines.

To recap, Ukraine has begun to calculate the payment for gas delivery in a new way.
