Gas stocks in UGS facilities have decreased by 23.7% since the beginning of the heating season

Ukraine reduced natural gas stocks in underground storage facilities (UGS) by 23.7% (by 6.732 billion cubic meters) to 21.711 billion cubic meters, from October 19, 2020, to January 23, 2021, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

On January 23, natural gas extraction from UGSFs amounted to 70.7 million cubic meters with "zero" imports (excluding possible backhaul) and internal production of 54.1 million cubic meters.

According to the calculations of Interfax-Ukraine, the current volume of stocks exceeds the figure for the same date in 2015-2020by 1.3-2.2 times (4.4-11.9 billion cubic meters).

During the last heating season lasted from November 1, 2019, to March 26, 2020, gas stocks in Ukrainian UGS facilities decreased by 6 billion cubic meters (from 21.784 billion cubic meters to 15.784 billion cubic meters).

As reported, market participants owed UAH 1.6 billion to the GTS Operator.
