Gas reserves in underground gas storage facilities have decreased by 2.6 billion cubic meters since the beginning of the heating season

Gas reserves in underground storage facilities of Ukraine from November 1 to December 26, 2019 decreased by 2 billion 576.1 million cubic meters (11.8%) – up to 19 billion 202.91 million cubic meters, according to data of JSC Ukrtransgaz.

Since the beginning of November, Ukraine has stopped pumping gas into underground storage facilities (UGS), but, on the contrary, has begun to take gas for heating needs.

On December 26, gas extraction from the underground gas storage facilities of Ukraine amounted to 40.91 million cubic meters, imports – 12.12 million cubic meters and domestic production – 56.53 million cubic meters.

According to the calculations of Kosatka.Media, the current gas volume in the underground storage facilities of Ukraine exceeds the reserves on December 26, 2018 by 34.8%, December 26, 2017 – by 28.9%, and the level as of December 26, 2016 is exceeded by 57.3%.

As reported that the operators of the gas transmission systems of Ukraine and Moldova signed a technical cooperation agreement. It allows transporting gas according to European rules in both directions between Ukraine and Moldova.
