Gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities amounted to more than 21 billion cubic meters

Natural gas reserves in underground storage facilities (UGS) in Ukraine as of July 25, 2020 amounted to 21.719 billion cubic meters, Energoreforma reports.

According to the data of JSC Ukrtransgaz, in the last heating season the reserves reached 21.784 billion cubic meters as of October 31, 2019.

Since the end of the season for withdrawing gas from storage facilities on March 26 to July 25, 2020, reserves in Ukrainian UGS facilities have grown by 37.6%, or 5.935 billion cubic meters.

Earlier, the general director of Ukrtransgaz JSC Serhii Alekseenko predicted that Ukraine could enter the 2020/21 heating season with natural gas reserves in its underground storage facilities (UGS) in the amount of 25.5-26.5 billion cubic meters.

As a reminder, in the first half of 2020, Naftogaz ensured the production of 6.69 billion cubic meters of gas, which was supplied to the population and district heating companies.

Earlier it was reported that gas imports to Ukraine reached 8 billion cubic meters over the past five years.
