The level of LNG production on the territory of Ukraine in 2018 was 396.5 thousand tons (by 3.5% less than in 2017), according to Naftorynok.

The largest LNG producers in 2018 were: 

  • Ukrgazvydobuvannya – 165 thousand tons;
  • Ukrnafta – 110 thousand tons;
  • Ukrtatnafta – 87 thousand tons.

At the same time, LNG production in these companies decreased by 0.5%, 5.1% and 13%, respectively.

The import of liquefied natural gas in 2018 amounted to 1.42 million tons (increased by 21.8%), the bulk of which came from the Russian Federation. The main supplier of Russian LNG, Rosneft has increased volumes of supplies compared to last year by 18.3% (up to 478 thousand tons). The second largest supplier of imported LNGs is Belarus, also increased the volumes of fuel sold to Ukraine by 1.1%. It should be noted that 79.3% of the total volume of imported LNG was delivered to Ukraine by rail, 19.5% by vehicles and 1.3% by sea. 

According to the results of 2018, there were 114 liquefied natural gas importer-companies in Ukraine. The largest one was Nadezhda group of companies, which produced 137.7 thousand tons of fuel, followed by petrol stations chain BRSM-Oil – 132.4 thousand tons, and Karpatnaftokhim, which purchased 103.1 thousand tons of LNG.
