Benchmark oil prices rise

The cost of October Brent futures on the London ICE Futures exchange on Monday is $44.89 per barrel, which is $0.49 (1.10%) higher than the price at the close of the previous session. As a result of trading on Friday, these contracts fell by $0.69 (1.5%), to $44.4 per barrel, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.

Futures on WTI for September at the electronic trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) by this time decreased in price by $0.61 (1.48%), to $41.83 per barrel. The day before, the cost of these contracts decreased by $0.73 (1.7%), to $41.22 per barrel.

Benchmark oil prices rose during trading on Monday amid US President Donald Trump's signing of decrees to extend a number of economic support measures.

Earlier it was reported that on August 5, the price of Brent oil exceeded $45 per barrel for the first time since March.
